Two PAS-ers, Jessie Loh and Bentley Tan, have made the brave decision to share their personal stories openly, in the hopes that others will know they are not alone in this journey.
I have been a psoriasis patient for more than 30 years. Initially, like everyone else, I found it disturbing and I did anything and everything to find a solution to the problem. I tried traditional Chinese medications, PUVA, various topical creams and oral medications including methotrexate for a number of years. The results were usually encouraging but temporary. The different treatments gave variable responses.
The urge to scratch was almost impossible to resist, and the feeling persisted even after a generous amount of Tiger balm had been applied. Weird – this stubborn coin sized lesion found on my thigh had been tingling, luring for a scratch. How long this had been going on I wasn’t sure at all. But now that I noticed it, I was startled to realize I couldn’t stop the itch.
